Souviginier gris 2022
Vineyard
The Kaiserstuhl is a renowned winegrowing region in Germany, located in the southwest of the country, near Freiburg im Breisgau. The Lasenberg is a specific site within the Kaiserstuhl and is considered one of the highest quality vineyard sites in the region.
The Kaiserstuhl is characterized by its original volcanic landscape, which is shaped by the foothills of the Black Forest. The soils in this region are characterized by volcanic weathered rock known as “Buntsandstein”. This soil type is ideal for viticulture as it has excellent drainage properties and allows the vines to penetrate deep into the soil to absorb nutrients and minerals.
Overall, the Lasenberg area of the Kaiserstuhl region is an excellent place for viticulture. The unique combination of volcanic soil, the optimal orientation of the vineyards and the variety of grape varieties grown contribute to the creation of high quality wines with a characteristic terroir.
